Siemens to acquire design automation and industrial software provider Mentor Graphics for $37.25 per share. 

Mentor Graphics is a pioneer and leader in design automation software ranging from Integrated Circuit (IC) and System-on-Chip (SoC) design to automotive electronics solutions. Siemens becomes unique digital industrial player to offer mechanical, thermal, electrical, electronic and embedded software design capabilities on a single integrated platform.

Samsung Electronics and Harman International Industries, Incorporated today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Samsung will acquire HARMAN for $112.00 per share in cash, or total equity value of approximately $8.0 billion.

Samsung Pay Launches Partnership with Sberbank

Samsung Electronics announced today a new Samsung Pay partnership with Sberbank. Beginning November 8, Sberbank customers with Mastercard credit or debit cards can register them for use with Samsung Pay.

With the new partnership, Samsung Pay is now available with seven major banks including Alfa Bank JSC, VTB 24 OJSC, MTS OJSC, Reiffeisen Bank JSC, Russian Standard Bank JSC and Yandex LLC.
To use Samsung Pay, customers simply need to open the Samsung Pay app and tap their compatible Samsung device against the NFC or MST reader to make a payment.

Code.gov, a U.S. government website for promoting the sharing of custom-developed software code, was launched Thursday with listings of nearly 50 open-source projects from various government agencies.

 The move follows the announcement by the White House in August of a Federal Source Code policy that would promote reuse of new custom source code developed by government agencies across the federal government to prevent replication of work and expense.

Huawei has announced the CloudFAN access network solution at the Broadband World Forum 2016 held in London. Huawei also showcased its existing large-capacity distributed Optical Line Terminal (OLT) which supports open protocol and works with the network controller to achieve the smooth evolution of CloudFAN. 

To implement the all cloud strategy, the operator’s network needs to migrate to a DC-Centric architecture, where network functions and services will all run on the cloud.

The new AWS Ohio Region supports Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and related services including Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, NAT Gateway, Spot Instances, and Dedicated Hosts.

 Huawei launched the industry's first DOCSIS prototype at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2016 in Philadelphia, USA. This prototype supports a 3 GHz spectrum and a 25 Gbps downstream rate. It also represents a new milestone for coaxial cable technologies and was the center of attention at the Expo. 

With the arrival of the Gigabit era, ultra-bandwidth technologies based on multi-media are constantly being innovated, supporting higher and higher access rates. At present, the widely deployed DOCSIS 3.0 technology supports a maximum of 32 channels and a 1.6 Gbps sharable downstream bandwidth.

Samsung Electronics, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology has announced that it has begun mass production of the Exynos 7 Dual 7270. It is the first mobile application processor (AP) in the industry designed specifically for wearable devices with 14-nanometer (nm) FinFET process technology. It is also the first in its class to feature full connectivity and LTE modem integration.

Over a decade ago, Samsung has been leading the industry in expanding the adoption of 14nm technology for a wide variety of products from premium smartphones to entry-level mobile devices.
With the Exynos 7270, the company also introduces the benefits of this cutting-edge technology to wearables.

Facebook said that over 1,000 organizations around the world use Workplace (formerly known as Facebook at Work). People have created nearly 100,000 groups and the top five countries using Workplace are India, the US, Norway, UK and France.
