Huawei is exhibiting at Interop Tokyo 2017 – Japan's largest ICT exhibition – from June 7 to June 9, with a display themed "Leading New ICT, the Road to Digital Transformation”. This year, Huawei won six awards, including the Grand Prize in the Demonstration Category and Grand Prize in the Server & Storage Category.
This year's Interop, with its theme of "The REAL", aims to explore what the Internet is all about and what changes it will bring to our future society. It offers a signpost for the business decision-makers who are leading the digital transformation into a Better Connected World.
Huawei strives to become a driver of the intelligent world, and the first-choice partner of industries going through digital transformation. To this end, Huawei has proposed the "platform + ecosystem" strategy and invested heavily in new technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN), aiming to create an open, flexible, secure, and agile ICT infrastructure platform.
Interop is widely recognized across the industry as the place to watch the latest IT developments and cutting-edge technologies unfold. Huawei has won several awards at Interop Tokyo over the last five years.
The Best of Show Awards at Interop Tokyo 2017 were judged by a panel of industry experts, who recognized the unique technological strengths of Huawei's innovative products and solutions, and awarded Huawei five prizes.
These prizes are the result of Huawei's heavy, long-term investment in new technologies such as cloud computing, IoT, big data, mobile broadband, and SDN, and its efforts to build an open, elastic, secure, and flexible ICT infrastructure platform, which have won the support of both Huawei's partners and customers.
The Huawei OceanStor Dorado V3 All Flash Storage won the Grand Prize in the Server & Storage Category because of its outstanding performance, high stability and reliability, converged functions and efficiency. The panel said that the product is the first of its kind that has both the performance and reliability to support heavily loaded mission-critical services.
The E2E NB-IoT Service Quick Development Kit with Huawei SoftRadio and IoT Cloud Platform won the Grand Prize in the Demonstration Category. This kit enables developers to sustainably create commercial IoT solutions. It covers the entire process, from the development environment to deployment, operations, and global labs for support. The panel praised the solution, saying that Huawei had drawn on technology and business insights from around the world, and proved how IoT can be an important new domain for innovation.
Huawei also won another two Runners-up and two Special Prizes. The Huawei 4T Routing Line Card won Runners-up in the Carrier/ISP Networking category. The card delivers the industry's highest connection density and only consumes 0.4W/G, just half of that of competitor products.
Huawei's Cloud Video Conferencing Endpoint – the Huawei TE10 – won Runners-up in the Gadget category. With its palm-sized or compact design, this product offers video conferencing functions that are compatible with H.323 and cloud services. The panel particularly commended Huawei for making these features commercially available at an affordable cost.
Huawei's CloudCampus solution won the Special Prize in the Enterprise/SMB Networking Category.
Huawei demonstrated several solutions in this year's ShowNet – Interop's major technology showcase. The LTE solution for broadband wireless access (BWA) developed by Huawei and Hanshin Electric Railway won the Best of ShowNet Special Prize.
Exploring new ICT and ecosystems will accelerate digital transformation
Huawei's Enterprise Business Group is a driver of the digital world and the intelligent world, and an enabler and partner of industries going through digital transformation. New ICT technologies are accelerating this process. The Internet of Things turns things into data; cloud computing turns data into a resource; and big data makes resources optimally available.
Edge computing is an important supplement to cloud computing and a key technology that will drive the digital transformation of industries. Around the world, industry organizations, standards organizations, and enterprises are racing to explore edge computing strategies and applications. They are developing advanced technologies, and quickly commercializing and promoting them across industries.
Liu Shaowei, President of Huawei’s Network R&D Department, delivered a keynote on the topic of "Edge Computing: Open, Win-Win Ecosystem for the Digitization of Industries". He said, "Edge computing is a key technology that will unlock the Internet of Things for many industries. It is also playing a critical role in converging operational technology (OT) with information and communication technology (ICT).
Huawei has been investing in R&D on key edge computing technologies like agile and automated network management, open edge computing platforms, Time-Sensitive Networking, and Self-X networks. We focus on building the basic capacity around edge networking and computing, developing industry solutions, and helping our customers create value and succeed."
Liu added, "Huawei aims to be an enabler and promoter of the intelligent world. We are committed to the principles of openness and win-win business, and we want to work with partners in all industries to jointly build better industry solutions and ecosystems.
The Japanese market is extremely important to Huawei. We are ready to work with leading Japanese enterprises and organizations in all industries to find synergies and new growth. Together, we will build a world where all things sensing, all things connected, all things intelligent.”
With its ongoing investment in new ICT technologies and ecosystems and its extensive global experience, Huawei is today trusted by more and more leading enterprises. Over one-third of Fortune Global 500 companies – including more than 40 top 100 companies – have selected Huawei as their partner for digital transformation.
